Our Mission Satement, Vision and Values

Our Mission Statement:

We provide a welcoming and caring school community in a happy, healthy, safe and secure setting where pupils and staff “live and learn together”.  Each day we set out to create a stimulating and challenging high-quality learning environment for pupils and staff.

We value happiness, excellence, ambition, respect, togetherness and independence. We have a high level of educational expertise.

All of this ensures that each member of the school community is enabled to fulfil their individual aspirations and to achieve their personal best.  Our pupils are supported to become truly independent learners.

Our Vision Statement:

Our vision is to be an outstanding school in the eyes of all stakeholders.  To achieve excellent outcomes for pupils, we will develop and share teaching expertise within our school and - in a suitably structured way – with other partners. We will enable each child to achieve his or her personal best both now and in the future.  Our pupils will be resilient in an ever-changing world.  We will demonstrate unique strengths stemming from our beautiful setting by developing a cutting edge curriculum with Pensford at its heart.  We will enable our pupils to know today’s changing world well.  They will have the resilience to keep working when challengedThey will understand how others live and learn together in a global community.

Our Values Statement

We use the acronym HEART! to remember our school values of Happiness, Excellence, Ambition, Respect and Togetherness.  The exclamation mark is no accident, and represents an upside-down letter i, for our sixth value of Independence.  We chose 'HEART!' for several reasons, not least because it allowed us to put children's happiness first.  The word's variety of meanings (such as 'courage', 'care' and 'centre') sit very well with what we believe in.  You can read our full values statement here.

We also fully support British Values, as defined by the UK government.  Our statement on this can be found here.
