The School Day

Classroom doors will be open from 08.45am to allow children to settle in to classroom routines more quickly. Parents and carers will need to supervise their children on site before 08.45am unless they enrol them into Breakfast Club. School provides Breakfast Club from 7.30am to 8.45am when they are taken to their classrooms.

Compulsory school hours amount to 31 hours and 40 minutes per week.  Please note: From September 2023, the government expects that schools will have a compulsory school week of at least 32.5 hours.  Our intention is to therefore make our optional 8:45am start compulsory.

Absence

If your child is unable to attend school please contact the office (NOT the teachers) before 08.30 on the first day of absence. If we do not hear from you we will telephone you to ensure that your child is safe.

Please do not leave verbal messages with class teachers or other members of staff as the start of the day is a very busy time.

Late Arrivals

Children are officially late if they arrive after 8:55am.  If they arrive later than 9:05am, their attendance will be marked as unauthorised absence.  This is except where parents provide a reason that we would be able to class as exceptional circumstances.

Please make every effort to be punctual so your child can settle comfortably into the school day. It can be extremely distressing for children, especially the younger ones, to be late for school as well as causing disruption for all the class. Should you be unavoidably detained, please come to the office so we can adjust the registers.
